My name is Jessica. I’m a senior journalism student at Olivet Nazarene University and I’ve decided to start this site because I think I annoy my Facebook friends with all my “posted items,” most of which tend to be news related.

Hello, world

First, a note about the name, Aggressive Aggregator. It came from an idea presented at a panel discussion I attended at the Illinois College Press Association this past February.

One panelist noted that the nature of journalism is transforming so that journalists are becoming aggregators of information. In the digital age, with more information and more content, this is already coming to fruition. Take Drudge Report, for an example.

I tacked on “aggressive” for the alliterative effect, plus, if you know me, I’m a natural aggregator–of facts, of websites, and news stories. I’m always finding something that I want to share with others.

I plan to use this as a space to discuss current news topics, as well as post interesting videos and links I come across.
